01 / MORE THAN A SCOREBOARD

Winning is the goal.
Coaching is the game.

A clever adjustment can turn a period. A careless answer can follow you for weeks. And sometimes the thing your team needs most is permission to laugh together.

CHHC brings tactical hockey and character-driven storytelling into the same season. Your players have ambitions, insecurities, friendships, and very different ideas of what good coaching looks like.

01

Read the game.

Prepare for the opponent. Choose your matchups. Decide when to push and when to protect. A good plan still has to fit the team across the ice.

Preparation · Tactics · Adjustments
02

Know your people.

Challenge one player. Reassure another. Recognize when a joke opens a door that a lecture would close. There can be more than one right answer—and a wrong moment for the right advice.

Trust · Personality · Follow-through
03

Become their coach.

Practice listening, accountability, and judgment under pressure. Build toward a championship by becoming someone your team can count on, especially when winning gets difficult.

Leadership · Resilience · Championship ambition

02 / THE PEOPLE MAKE THE SEASON

They’ll remember
how you showed up.

There’s a person behind every number.
And a little more going on than the box score tells you.

CONRAD BRANTLEY / PLAYER

A little silliness.
A real connection.

“Somebody’s been training it on our footage.”

Conrad and Fredrick have found an AI coach on StickyTack, a video-based social media platform. Its advice? Establish dominance through “sustained eyebrow contact.” Naturally, they have thoughts about your eyebrows.

Do you enjoy the joke, ask them to explain it, or make a ridiculous reciprocal wager? Knowing when to join in is part of knowing your team.

The final horn isn’t
the last word.

You’ve coached the game.
Now explain what you believe.

Lucy brings questions that deserve more than a stock answer. What do you owe your players? What can you honestly promise Chicago? And will your next decision live up to what you just said?

Meet a journalist with her own perspective, in a world where the human story can be just as memorable as the hockey.
